In response to a drop off in business travel, British Airways recently launched a campaign to remind business owners of the value of in-person meetings for business growth. In an interesting twist, they invited U.S. small business owners (not U.K. business owners) to submit videos and essays describing how free international travel would help their businesses. They then flew 250 owners to London for a networking session, and on to a destination of their choice.
British Airways was overwhelmed by the response from small business owners, noting how eager they were for connections and information on expanding globally.
