CEB’s Communications Executive Council have an extensive archive of tools, templates, guides, and company examples and now, for the first time, we’ve pulled all these tools into a one-stop shop—The Communicator’s  Toolbox — to help you get your job done more easily.

So now, you needn’t worry about how or where to get started. Just think about the task or activity you have at hand, visit the Communicator’s Toolbox, look for the relevant topic or simply type into the search box, and see if there’s any guide or template that can help you get going. Not just that, you can also evaluate a project , your dialogue style , and your BU’s reputation risk exposure using some of the assessments we have in the Toolbox.

Here’s more on how to use the Toolbox:

1. Filter by Topic and/or Format

We’ve organized the tools into topics, which are categorized under five broad heads. Pick the relevant topic from the “Topic” dropdown and look at all the tools available for that topic.

For example, if you’re interested in social media for employees, look for the heading “Communicate with Employees” and then select the topic “Intranets and Internal Social Media.” Or, if you’re planning to re-think your media strategy, look under “Communicate with External Stakeholders” and select “Public and Media Relations” where you’ll find some practical guides and toolkits to help you.

Each tool is also categorized under one of the six format types – Assessment, Checklist, Example, Guide, Template, and Toolkit. Say, if you want to see all the templates in one place, use the “Format” dropdown to filter the results.

2. Search by Keyword

Alternatively, you can type in a keyword in the search box (top-right above the table) to find the desired tool.

3. Look for “Most Popular”

Right-hand column of this Toolbox shows a list of tools that are most popular among your peers in other organizations.

4. Look for “Latest Additions”

As we continually plan to upgrade this Toolbox, keep an eye out for the Latest Tools (on the right-hand column) and keep yourself updated.

Here’s what we ask from you:

We hope you’ll find this one-stop shop valuable, however the list is far from complete and we plan to add more tools in the coming weeks. In our ongoing efforts to update the Toolbox, you can also contribute in the following ways:

  • Donate: If you’ve any tools/artifacts from your organization that you’d like to share, please do so using the “Share Your Tools” link on the Toolbox.
  • Suggest: Let us know how we can improve the Toolbox and tell us which tools you’d like us to include, through the “Suggestions/ Feedback” link.
